Terms of Use

Last updated: October 22, 2026. By using Balcony Sun Lab (https://www.balconysunlab.com) you agree to these terms.

Information only, not advice

Our guides are general information about plug-in solar laws, products and savings. They are not legal, electrical, financial or tax advice, and they don't create any professional relationship. Laws, utility rules, product certifications and prices change frequently and vary by location. Before buying or installing anything, check the current rules that apply to you and, where appropriate, ask a licensed electrician, your utility or network operator, your landlord or HOA, or a lawyer.

Safety

Electricity can cause fire, injury or death. Only use equipment that is certified for your country and approved for use where you live, follow the manufacturer's instructions, and never use adaptors, extension cords or modifications that the manufacturer or the law does not allow. You are responsible for how you install and use any equipment.

Accuracy and estimates

We work hard to keep pages accurate and dated, but we can't guarantee that every page reflects the latest change. Savings figures and calculator results are estimates based on stated assumptions, not promises of what you will save.

Third-party links and products

We link to official sources, retailers and other websites we don't control. We are not responsible for their content, products or practices. Some links may be affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure).

Use of our content

You may share links to our pages and quote short extracts with a link back. Please don't copy whole pages or our state data without permission. Our state map and tables may be embedded or cited by journalists and nonprofits with a credit and link.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under UK consumer law.
